Betahouse could be the Cambridge equivalent to the (best kept) secret enclave in the Boston — Bodega shoe store. I would have included a link to the hush-hush shoe store’s site, except I wish they didn’t have one so it was word-of-mouth marketed exclusively. Bodega is that unique, and I’m that ideological.
Betahouse, on the other hand, I’m pleased to tout aloud — though it’s just as mercurial.

Hubspot Hosts Tech Hub Foosball
By Matt Fellows, BostInnovation, 25 March, 2010
Last night was the third episode of the Tech Hub Foosball League, and the HubSpot team was gracious enough to hold the event at their Kendall Square office this week.
The event was held in the office lounge, and the atmosphere perfectly maintained the fun, laid back attitude the weekly event strives to achieve. Completing the setting, was a full blown fantasy baseball draft taking place in the middle of the room.
Though there was a group huddled around the foosball table, participants also enjoyed getting to know one another over ping pong, or beers and a slice of pizza.

Foosball League Goes To Somerville
By Jabu Mguni, 19 March 2010
This week’s fooser was hosted by the good folks at EchoDitto at their impressive offices in Davis Squaure, Somerville. True to form the event attracted Boston-area innovators, start-ups and techies who immediately went straight to the main business of the day: foosball.
The games were an exciting blend of light-hearted fun interspersed with the feisty competitiveness that is the hallmark of every start-up. By the end of the evening, people who had been perfect strangers at the beginning of the evening where getting along like long-time friends!
Present at this Fooser were some folks from the Kennedy School of Government , which was great to see as it spoke to the reach of the innovation ecosystem in the Tech Hub!
May the foos be with you: until the next one!

By Kyle Psaty, BostInnovation, 15 March 2010
Thursday night, around 50 local tech employees, startup founders and local entrepreneurs got together at our co-working space inside Hangout Hub on Chauncy Street in Boston for the first round of The Tech Hub Foosball League and watch DartBoston’s live taping of Pokin’ Holes, which is broadcast over the web weekly via YouStream.
The two-floor get-together, designed by coordinators at BostInno, Pinyadda and EchoDitto, was organized as part of a new movement in Boston to make sure tech professionals have more events that are less impersonal and stodgy and more casual and personal – events that are more cultural….you can read the rest of the article here: link
